The essence of Smart Touch can be summed up in these few words.
The idea was born in 2012 from a group of old friends, between a chat and a beer consumed in the usual pub. They realize what business processes could be simpler and more efficient if managed in a different way, thanks to the application of new, existing technologies.
In a short time they define the sector and the process they want to start working on. The choice falls on order management in restaurants, bars and bathing establishments. A moment full of critical issues, long waits and lost orders. Who hasn’t waited too long before ordering? But there is a way to improve the moment of ordering.
The startup was founded in 2013.
Five partners and four collaborators with complementary skills and professional experience in different fields decide to form a flexible team, united by a passion for technological innovation and new challenges.
Starting from the concept of the Internet of things (in which the use of the internet is applied to the world of concrete objects and places), Smart Touch S.r.l. develops its first App, SmartTouch Menu® , to speed up ordering in the catering sector. From this moment the customer can order independently, using their smartphone , without unnecessary waiting or endless queues.
The first goals
SmartTouch Menu® immediately received positive feedback from the public and institutions. In 2015 he won the Barawards 2015 Innovation Award of the Year by Bargiornale.it and the following year the Special “Restauration” Award by Elior Group during Seeds & amp; Chips, the Summit international dedicated to food innovation, where food and technologies meet.
The same year he was also a finalist in the startup category at Hostelco Awards 2016 , the award of the homonymous fair for the Ho.re.ca sector in Barcelona.
New partners and new functions
The process of constant evolution does not stop. The company enters new agreements with national distributors, such as Vodafone , and with industry associations such as Fipe (Italian Federation of Public Exercises). It also develops new features and methods of use for SmartTouch Menu®, such as take away and delivery and, in 2019, adapts the App also for the needs of Sushi and All You Can Eat restaurants.
In the meantime, new ad hoc projects in the catering field are also being created, such as Apps customized to specific customer needs, to digitize procedures, making them more profitable.
The most important value. Before proposing new solutions, we talk directly with the restaurateurs and perfect them with their help, so that they are truly functional and customizable for the business.
